MAKING LEMON BALM SYRUP TO TREAT COUGH
Prepare: 200g lemon basil, 1 fresh ginger, 15 fresh kumquats, 2 lemongrass branches, 300g rock sugar, 500ml water, 1 lemon, 1 pinch of salt.

How to cook simple lemon basil syrup at home
Step 1: Prepare ingredients
Wash lemon basil, chives leaves to dry. Wash the kumquats and lemons, then cut them in half and thinly slice the lemons and remove seeds. Lemongrass and ginger washed and smashed.
Step 2: Cook the syrup
- First, puree lemon basil and 500ml water in a blender. Then add the chopped lemon + other ingredients (except honey) into the cooking pot and stir well. Cook on low heat for about 45 minutes to 1 hour until the mixture thickens, then turn off the heat.
- Next, pour this mixture through a sieve to separate the residue, then you take the juice into the pot and then add honey to continue to boil over low heat. When the above mixture starts to thicken to about 400ml, turn off the heat.
- Finally, wait for the syrup to cool, then put it in a glass jar and store it in the refrigerator.
